One of the ways we help keep our membership rates affordable is by doing much of our own maintenance work. Indeed, over the last forty-plus years, walls have been built, lights erected, the clubhouse was built – all by volunteers and members.
Similarly, much of the work maintaining our hedges, cutting the grass, keeping moss and weeds under control, managing water leaks, etc. etc. is done by our members and friends.
Once or twice a year we have a ‘court clean-up’ – all friends and members are welcome to join these, or indeed to come over by themselves and do a bit of pruning or cleaning. Armed with shears, clippers, strimmers, hedge cutters, mowers, mops, brooms, dusters and cloths, we keep the grounds under control, and have a good time doing so!
2025 Court Clean-Up – this was held on 30th August, and despite the drizzle, we had wonderful support from lots of volunteers – thank you all! See photos below
